The holidays are here, and many hardworking people out there finally rejoicing as if the heavens have came down to earth. Well, everyone seems to be happy from what I've seen so far.
But not me!
Well, im not saying im depressed or sad in anyway, because im not. Instead, what I want to say is this. How can the holidays be enjoyable for a college going student? Sure, the monotonous daily grind in attending classes during the semesters are a killer, but the sheer amount of boredom that takes effect unto us during the semester breaks is just too much for it to even be seen as equal.
Imagine this, you wake up in the morning, sun shining brightly outside, earth still revolving round its axis, birds still flying, and you get yourself ready.....for.....wait a minute? Why get ready you ask? Because there's no class to be ready for! Why the heck are you getting ready for? And then, you begin to realize that you suddenly had sooo much time on your hands for the entire day to do things.
This sensation will no doubt be fun for the first few days, but as the hours trudge by slowly, at a snails pace, a sense of malaise begins to take form. You no longer had the zest you once had when you first begun the holidays, and soon the realise that you have too much time on your hands.
Time.....
That's right, its time. The four letter word that everybody wants but just somehow couldn't get enough of. Is 24 hours a day good enough? Its no to some, and definitely yes to me because its certainly bloody more than what I needed during a sem break!
But despite all this gloomy predictions about how im spending my time during the holidays, i am indeed grateful for it. Also, im fully aware that it would take me another 4 more months before I will actually have this much time on my hands. So for now, im slowly, but surely, waiting for time to pass me by so that I can resume my normal life again. (going to classes! :-D )
